She has lead her firm’s rapid growth and innovation, growing from 2 to over 40 employees in 4 years and establishing LedgerGurus as an industry leader in ecommerce accounting. Her entire work force is home-based, operating entirely on cloud based software.

Stephen Brown is the COO for LedgerGurus, a virtual outsourced accounting firm focused on ecommerce accounting. Remote work, like so many business trends, is both popular and criticized. The reality is that a home-based workforce can provide access to talented professionals that are often overlooked by most businesses. Come learn about the benefits and challenges of a 100% flexible, home-based workforce from the founders of LedgerGurus. LedgerGurus is an outsourced accounting service provider specialized in digital businesses. Founded in 2014, the entire workforce has been remote with flexible schedules from day 1. This model has allowed them to grow from 2 to 40 employees in 4 years with a steady talent pipeline in a highly competitive labor market. The key to this employee model is a combination of hiring the right people, having the right process, and using the right technologies. As LedgerGurus has grown, each of these critical elements has needed to evolve to keep up with the scale and growth of their business. Learn about each of these three elements and how each has progressed over time. Remote and flexible work is not for every person or business. It requires certain attributes for the employee and a different approaches to work for the business. Understanding these attributes and approaches can help other business leaders if and how they should use this model in their company
