    Professional HR Certification

    Human Resource certification is a career-long commitment that shows your peers, your employees and your organization that you have mastered the principles of human resources and that you are dedicated to staying current in your profession.

    To become certified, you must meet strict professional experience and educational requirements before taking the exam. To remain certified, you must stay current in the HR profession and recertify every three years. You display your certification by putting the credentials after your name.

    There are two preferred professional options for HR certification. They are:

    Option 1: SHRM Certification

    One of the best opportunities to advance your career and HR Knowledge is to earn the new SHRM Certification. SHRM certification is a career-long commitment that shows your peers, your employees and your organization that you have mastered the principles of human resources and that you are dedicated to staying current in your profession.  For detailed information about SHRM certification please go to the SHRM website at www.shrm.org and click on the Education/Certification tab.  

    Option 2: HRCI Certification

    As a state SHRM Chapter we plan to continue to support the HRCI certifications.  More than 108,000 HR professionals have earned HR certification. Earning the PHR, SPHR, GPHR, PHR/CA or SPHR/CA credential demonstrates to you and your organization that you commit to a higher standard. If you’re an HR professional, when you become HR certified; you show you know the most current principles and core practices of HR management, become more marketable when you compete for top HR positions, raise your professional confidence among your staff and your peers.  For detailed information about HRCI certification please go to the HRCI website at www.hrci.org
